I use to model full-time but now model part-time after a pregnancy of which I had to be placed on bed rest for 9 months. Gee… 9 months is a long time to stay in bed sick, unable to walk, eat food or even drink water. Yes… I could only consume tomato juice all while carrying an IB pole to replenish by body with 24/7. On several occasions, I was rushed to the hospital as my body had slightly exhausted itself of magnesium, potassium, fluids and other necessary body necessities.

Oh, don’t get me wrong. I wouldn't change my experience for the world. As the old saying goes “what don’t kill you will only make you stronger”. During my down time, I used it wisely (well… when I wasn’t vomiting, or so sick I could turn my body). Nonetheless, I used my mind to review the goods and not so goods in my life and tried to focus on ways to better it and myself. My main goal was to give my newborn child the most attention I could for his first 5 years on this earth. To do that, I had to com up with a plan. A Stay-At-Home Mom.

So with a couple of friends we opened a store with a twist. This wouldn’t require much of my time as it would be open when someone wanted spend quality time with friends, families and other. Hostesses brought friends, families, coworkers, neighbors, etc. into the store where they partied, ate, drank, mingled, karaoke and shop, shop, shop. The Hostess received a “FREE” gift plus discounts as well as the accompanying party. Since it was a couple of us opening the store with a twist, it didn’t require all of my time. Therefore, I had necessary time to allot to my son.

Now, here’s a miracle. My son was talking before he was 6 months old. Don’t take my word, its documents. Not only was he talking, he was saying complete sentences. Before he was 3 months, he was saying hi, hello, I’m hungry and I’m hot. Today, my son is 5 now and very intelligent. I knew that it was very important to give him that first couple of years of his life with my added attention because those are the most important growing and learning years. In essence, hopefully, this will pave a way for the foundation of his future.

Also, as a stay-at-home mom, I stumbled on a few ways to make money without much effort. I focused on everyday items that are needed and easy to sell.
